Daikin Applied Europe S.p.A., a member of the Daikin Group and a leading company in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector, counts environmental protection among its corporate objectives and takes a keen interest in research relating to environmental protection and the conservation of biodiversity.

The Charles Darwin Department of Biology and Biotechnologies (BBCD) at Sapienza University of Rome conducts research across all levels of biology, with a focus on molecular biology, applied biotechnology, theoretical and applied ecology, evolution and biodiversity conservation.

To support research in the field of biodiversity conservation and to encourage young researchers working in this sector, Daikin Applied Europe and the BBCD Department are promoting the Daikin Award for Biodiversity Conservation.
