:: BOOK LOAN AND RETURN ::

LOAN

To obtain a book follow these steps:

• Find the book in the Catalogand select "Loan Request".

Book pickup

• You can go directly to the library front desk during opening hours.
• You can reserve the locker pickup service by clicking on the "Reservation" button in the Loan Request Confirmation email. You will receive an unlock code via email.

Loan Details

• Duration: 15 days.
• Number of volumes: up to 5 simultaneously.
• Renewal: if there are no reservations from other users, you can request an additional 15-day renewal.

RETURN

You can return books in two ways:

• In person, at the front desk, during opening hours (Monday - Friday, 9.00 AM - 5.00 PM)
• Via the return box located on the 1st floor landing, available Monday - Friday, 8.00 AM - 8.00 PM. 
  Enter books carefully; no codes are needed.

Confirmation of return: you will receive a confirmation email as soon as the volumes are picked up.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN AND DOCUMENT DELIVERY ::

The interlibrary loan and document delivery service (provision of articles and book chapters) is intended for institutional users of the Department of Biology and Biotechnology (students, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, researchers, faculty) who are looking for materials that are not available or not accessible in the library.

How to Use the Service
NILDE Enrollment: Click here and follow the instructions:

• Answer "Yes" to the question "Would you like to register in NILDE? Have you an institutional IDEM-GARR user account?".
• Select "Sapienza University of Rome" from the drop-down menu.
• Enter your institutional credentials.

Prestito Interbibliotecario Metropolitano (PIM) / Metropolitan Interlibrary Loan
Looking for a fiction book, a travel guide, a popular science essay or a movie DVD? The Sapienza Libraries participate in the Metropolitan Interlibrary Loan (PIM) service, sponsored by the Public Libraries of Roma Capitale.

How to Use the Service

• Find the Book: Search for the book in the Municipal Libraries Catalog.
• Send Request: Send us an email with your request.
• Pickup: We will arrange for it to arrive in Sapienza. You will be able to pick it up at our office.
  Note: The service applies to resources not owned by Sapienza Libraries.

The library provides a research consultancy and support service aimed at all professors, researchers, grant holders, PhD students and students of the department, dedicated in particular to the insertion and validation of products in the IRIS catalogue and to the application of the university Open Access policy.

The library offers interlibrary loan service and document supply to Italian and foreign libraries upon request via email, ILL SBN or NILDE.

Note: The textbook section (DID) is excluded from interlibrary loan.
